Furious at the orcs' wow gold failure to live up to Doomhammer's promise, wow gold the Vilebranch trolls returned home and eventually discovered wow gold that the Revantusk tribe had moved into the area. wow gold The Vilebranch decided wow gold that the small Revantusk tribe would be an easy source of victims wow gold for ritual sacrifices. wow gold

In this assumption, World of Warcraft Gold theVilebranch were mistaken. Revantusk Tribe

Never one of the larger tribes in the Amani empire, World of Warcraft the Revantusk tribe World of Warcraft was nearly wiped out by the Troll Wars. World of Warcraft Reluctantly World of Warcraft the trolls yielded to practicality and moved a safe World of Warcraft distance away from the elven invaders. World of Warcraft Like other forest trolls, World of Warcraftthe Revantusks swore that one day World of Warcraft they would have their revenge. World of Warcraft

The Second War gave the forest World of Warcraft Gold trolls that opportunity. World of Warcraft Gold Warchief Orgrim World of Warcraft Gold Doomhammer asked the trolls to ally themselves with the Horde. World of Warcraft Gold In return, World of Warcraft Gold Doomhammer promised that the Horde World of Warcraft Gold would vanquish the high elves and assist the forest trolls in reestablishing the Amani empire. World of Warcraft Gold

As leader of all the forest trolls at the time, World of Warcraft Gold Zul'jin eventually World of Warcraft Gold accepted Doomhammer's offer. World of Warcraft Gold A few tribes of forest trolls joined their new allies on the battlefield. Shortly thereafter, World of Warcraft Gold the Horde burned down the borderlands of Quel’World of Warcraft Gold Thalas and slaughtered many high elf civilians. World of Warcraft Gold Furious at this World of Warcraft Gold wanton destruction of life, World of Warcraft Gold the elves subsequently committed all their resources to the war, World of Warcraft Gold which the Alliance ultimately won.

Several additional battles later, World of Warcraft most of the World of Warcraft vanquished orcs on Azeroth were rounded up and placed in internment camps. World of Warcraft In the war's disastrous aftermath, World of Warcraft the Horde was shattered, World of Warcraft and many forest trolls deserted their former orc allies without a moment's hesitation. World of Warcraft The Revantusks had little choice other than to flee as well, World of Warcraft for their numbers World of Warcraft were far too few to liberate the captive orcs, World of Warcraft particularly World of Warcraft when the orcs themselves seemed uninterested in freedom. World of Warcraft Because World of Warcraft they continued to feel some loyalty toward the Horde, World of Warcraft the Revantusks were the target of many attacks World of Warcraft from other forest trolls. World of Warcraft Eventually the Revantusk tribe relocated to the coast of the Hinterlands, where they hoped to avoid further notice. World of Warcraft

Then the courageous orc wow gold Thrall began reassembling a new Horde. wow gold He resolved that his people would return to their shamanistic wow gold traditions wow gold and establish a nation of their own. Word of the revitalized Horde and wow gold its noble goals soon reached the Revantusk trolls, wow gold who were still dwelling in Lordaeron. wow gold The news stirred the trolls' interest, wow gold and the tribe immediately dispatched its speediest runners to make contact with the orcs. wow gold

Thrall was wary of the trolls at first, wow gold but he came to wow gold see that the Revantusk trolls were unique among forest trolls in a fundamental way. wow gold The Revantusk wow gold tribe had never had much in the way of the fighters or resources, wow gold and so it had instead wow gold decided to specialize in the trickier art of negotiation. wow gold By the time they spoke with Thrall, wow gold the Revantusks had acquired a reputation for trustworthiness that was well deserved. wow gold

The trolls were impressed by Thrall and his dream. cheap wow gold Even so, cheap wow gold they remembered the recklessness and corruption of the first Horde. cheap wow gold Thus, cheap wow gold the Revantusks declined to rejoin the Horde, cheap wow gold but they did agree to a pact of friendship and mutual assistance. cheap wow gold

Today the Revantusk tribe buy wow gold continues to live in a village along the southeast coast of buy wow gold the Hinterlands. buy wow gold Due to the tribe's buy wow gold small size and the Revantusks' pact with Thrall, buy wow gold all other forest trolls regard the Revantusk trolls as weaklings and enemies. buy wow gold Similarly the honorable Revantusks regard other forest trolls as traitors to the Horde. buy wow gold There is also a long-standing enmity between the Revantusk tribe and the buy wow gold Wildhammer clan of dwarves, buy wow gold who dwell in the buy wow gold Hinterlands and are considered enemies of the Horde. buy wow gold

Mossflayer Tribe

The Mossflayer tribe split off buy wow gold from the

Amani empire after the Troll Wars and decided buy wow

to abandon that buy wow gold section of

Lordaeron altogether. buy wow gold Even so, humanity

continued to harry the forest trolls. buy wow gold The

Mossflayer buy wow gold tribe had been driven out of

much of its ancestral territory buy wow gold in

Like all other forest trolls, cheap wow gold the

Zul'jin, cheap wow gold a famous troll hero from the

Amani tribe. When the Horde was soundly defeated, cheap wow

Zul'jin disappeared, cheap wow gold and the

forest trolls abandoned their orcish allies. cheap wow

Disgusted with the Horde's defeat, cheap wow

gold
the Mossflayer cheap wow gold trolls decided

they would have nothing further to cheap wow gold do

with such incompetent and reckless allies. cheap wow

Instead, cheap wow gold the trolls focused on trying to

keep humanity from overrunning all of Lordaeron. cheap wow

gold
When the plague cheap wow gold of undeath began

spreading across the land, cheap wow gold the Mossflayer

tribe was quick to take advantage of the cheap wow gold

blossoming chaos. cheap wow gold Because the plague was

designed to convert only the cheap wow gold human race

into undeath, cheap wow gold human defenses soon

faltered, cheap wow gold and the Mossflayers managed to

retake parts cheap wow gold of their ancient territory.

cheap wow gold

The plague has since had taken its toll wow gold on the

landscape. wow gold The verdant lands in which the

Mossflayer tribe settled now form the wow gold northeast

corner of the Eastern Plaguelands. wow gold The plants

and animals, wow gold while not undead, are diseased and

decaying. Yet despite these nightmarish conditions, wow

gold
the trolls have wow gold refused to relinquish

the lands they had just recovered. wow gold

A large hunting party wow gold of Mossflayer trolls left

their settlement some time ago in search wow gold of

live game to take back to their people. wow gold The

hunt took them far from home, wow gold for many animals

had been affected by the plague. wow gold At last the

trolls came wow gold upon several animals that seemed

healthy. Slaying the beasts, wow gold the trolls

rewarded themselves by feasting on a portion wow gold of

the hunt. wow gold

Unfortunately for the hunting party, World of Warcraft

Gold
a powerful lich World of Warcraft Gold had

deliberately altered the beasts. World of Warcraft Gold

Any living creature that consumed World of Warcraft Gold

the animals' flesh would be converted into undeath. Afterwards, the lich was able to impose

his will upon the undead trolls. World of Warcraft Gold

Following the lich's commands, World of Warcraft Gold

most of the undead trolls formed a base of operations in the southwest of the Eastern

Plaguelands. World of Warcraft Gold

One of the undead trolls World of Warcraft was given a

horrifying mission by his new master: World of Warcraft

to return home and infect the rest World of Warcraft of

his people. World of Warcraft Hameya managed to hold

onto his willpower long enough World of Warcraft to

scribble a World of Warcraft brief account of what had

occurred. World of Warcraft His desperate note
href="http://www.wowatm.com">World of Warcraft
offered a reward for anyone who killed

him before he reached his home. World of Warcraft

Recent reports on the Mossflayer wow gold tribe paint a

grim picture of subsequent events. wow gold A large

number of fresh graves have been dug near the village, wow

gold
and several undead trolls have been spotted, wow

gold
hiding themselves among their wow gold

unsuspecting brethren. wow gold It would seem that no

one was able to stop Hameya in time, wow gold and he

succeeded wow gold in accomplishing the lich's dread

mission. wow gold Unless the Mossflayers come to their

senses and flee the Eastern Plaguelands, wow gold the

tribe will wow gold certainly be transformed in its

entirety. wow gold

BlizzCon schedule leaked

Blizzard has, inexplicably, been keeping the schedule for BlizzCon under wraps. We at WoW Insider have been frantically planning coverage here, and yet we haven't heard a peep from Blizzard about what to expect during the show. But now WorldofWar has posted what seems to be a leaked schedule for the event (no word on how they obtained it), and we'll finally have some idea of how the days are laid out. Here's what to expect if you're headed to BlizzCon:

*World of Warcraft and Starcraft II open gaming
*WoW, Warcraft III, and Starcraft tournaments
*An opening ceremony (where they'll announce a new game or expansion?)
*Panels on WoW classes, dungeons and raids, professions and items, and PvP
*A Starcraft II gameplay demo
*More panels on Warcraft Art, Blizzard Sound/Music, Careers in Gaming, Cinematics, Starcraft II Lore and Art, WoW UI mods, the TCG, and the Expanded Universe (likely the Warcraft novels)
And the convention will wrap up with a big concert from L70ETC and Video Games Live hosted by Jay Mohr.

Sounds like a full few days! Of course there will also be an exhibit hall open the whole time, but we haven't heard much of what will be in there (don't forget that Xfire will be there, as well as Upper Deck and all the TCG folks, and of course the WoW Insider party will be before the convention starts on Thursday night). Stay tuned for more details as we get them. Under a week left!

Around Azeroth: Arcane Explosion ftw

Reader Marty sends us this shot, showing off the how impressive it can be running through lower-level content at level 70. Here we have a level 70 mage bringing down dozens of mobs in Scarlet Monastery at a time. There's something very satisfying about seeing an Arcane Explosion cause all of your enemies to drop instantly to the ground.

Do you have a unique shot of Azeroth or Outland that you'd like to show off to the rest of the world? Tell us about it by e-mailing aroundazeroth@gmail.com! Or perhaps you'd just like to see more of your pics from Around Azeroth.

WoW board game makers will be at Blizzcon

Fantasy Flight Games, makers of the WoW board game, have announced what they're going to be up to at BlizzCon, just a few days away. The game's creators will be around, and they'll be showing off the game, as well as the Burning Crusade expansion, which apparently adds new heroes and new monsters into the mix. FFG will also be showing off Starcraft: The Board Game, which is set to be released sometime later this year.

And, perhaps most exciting, they'll also be giving out a special BlizzCon mini-expansion, with custom sets of armor for each of the nine classes, and even a Murloc suit! No idea what a Murloc suit will do for you in a board game, but it doesn't do much for you in the MMO either, and we all want one of those, right?

If you're a fan of the Board Game or just want to be one (I wouldn't mind checking it out for sure), be sure to check out the FFG booth in the Exhibit Hall at Blizzcon.

Epic mount price drop rumors

Some people are passing the rumor around that the Epic Flying Mount prices have dropped to 3000g on the PTR. This is not true. The price is still 5000g and will probably remain so until there is another expansion or later. Drysc confirms:

Depending on how mount riding skills are going to progress, the most likely point for a price drop would be with the release of the next expansion, just as the ground mount prices dropped when Burning Crusade was released. Again it would likely depend on a few factors, and may actually not change. But that's a question for a later time.

Three days have passed since Quiham first posted this topic and it is still on the front page of the WoW General Discussion Forum, so this is a hot topic.

Do you think, as Mike does, that the current Epic Flying Mount price is too steep? Or are you happy that only the privileged few have them? Or do you agree with many of the posters, that the "privileged few" = "players with no life outside WoW"?

Addon Spotlight: QuestsFu

In previous weeks we've looked at Lightheaded, which helps you understand how to do your quests, and Fubar, which can present all sorts of information concisely. Today's addon is a Fubar plugin that can work with Lightheaded to show you everything you need to know about your quests without having to click a lot of buttons or obscure your screen with your entire quest log.

QuestsFu presents you with a handy quest list in two ways. First of all, you can hover over its space on your Fubar and it'll give you a collapsable list of all the quests you're working on in a tooltip. In addition, you can have QuestsFu put up its own little quest tracker to replace Blizzard's standard tracker. The advantage to either of these color-coded quest lists is that you can just click on any of the quests themselves to open up a little window with all the quest information in it (pictured on the right). This is great for when you're in the middle of a quest and you don't want to stop moving, but you still forgot where exactly you were supposed to go or what the quest rewards are.

If you have Lightheaded installed too, then you can arrange an additional Lightheaded comments popup on the other side of your screen, and get hints about your quest without opening the big old quest log.

There are other quest managers out there, but this is my favorite because it feels so light weight, looks so attractive, works together with other addons so nicely, and also has such nice features, above and beyond what I've already mentioned:

Edit the questlog on the fly, adding or removing quests with ease.
Display quest levels, difficulty, zones, and objectives clearly.
Put objective info into monster and item tooltips
Show the quest level before you accept the quest
Show other party members' completion of quest objectives (if they have the addon too)
Optionally (I have this turned off) notify party members in /p chat when you complete a quest.
Check out QuestsFu at WoW Interface.

Two Bosses Enter: Nefarian vs. Kel'Thuzad

Two bosses enter... but only one will get to leave in WoW Insider's series of fantasy deathmatches. We've scoured the instances of Azeroth and Outland looking for the most interesting bosses Blizzard has to offer us and picked out a group of 32 to pit against one another until we come out with a single winner in the end. And the best part -- you get to tell us who wins. Today we're going to be considering a fight between Kel'Thuzad, the final boss in Naxxramas, and Nefarian, the final boss in Blackwing Lair. Want to learn more about these two bosses and voice your opinion on who would win in a fight? Keep reading!

The Lich Lord Kel'Thuzad rules over the Plaguelands from his citadel Naxxramas. While in his citadel, the fight begins with the raid taking out several adds, we're just considering the bosses themselves, so we'll start by talking about what would normally be considered phase 2 of this encounter, when you first get to fight Kel'thuzad himself.

Kel'Thuzad does frost and shadow damage with:

*single-target and multi-target frostbolts,
*the ability to mind-control up to 4 targets,
*the ability to create a shadow fissure, causing massive shadow damage to anyone in its radius,
*a frost blast that immobalizes and damages its target (100% of its health),
*a mana detonation which causes causes mana users to explode, dealing damage to all of those around them.
For the sake of a fair fight, we're going to presume that Nefarian is immune to any of Kel'Thuzad's instant-kill spells -- though any of Nefarian's adds are fair game.

When he reaches 40% health, Kel'Thuzad will summon five Guardians of Icecrown to fight with him. Their only special ability is Blood Tap, which gives them +15% to all damage and stacks up to 99 times. When Kel'Thuzad dies, these will despawn.

This should be all of the information on the Kel'Thuzad fight necessary, but if you want all of the details, check WoWWiki.

The dragon Nefarian, son of Deathwing and leader of the Black Dragonflight, resides within his Blackwing Lair, a fortress inside Blackwing Mountain. As with Kel'thuzad, we're going to start considering this fight in phase 2, because phase 1 involves taking out adds.

Nefarian starts the fight by throwing a shadowflame out on his targets, dealing a decent amount of shadow damage up-front as well as applying a DoT doing additional shadow damage over time. Throughout the fight, he primarily relies on physical damage with the occasional shadowflame to bring down his targets, but he has a whole bag of tricks -- the latter of which probably wouldn't have any effect on Kel'Thuzad. He'll regularly shadowflame and cleave his primary target, as well as casting an AoE fear every 30 seconds.

When his health reaches 20%, Nefarian will summon a number of Bone Constructs, which hit fairly hard but have low health, and are easily taken out by AoE attacks.

This should be all of the pertinant information, but for full details on the fight, check WoWWiki.

Now, before we get to our vote, I want to be clear that we're considering these two bosses to have similar health, level, and damage capacity. We're trying to put them on an even playing field, instead of just presuming Kel'Thuzad would win because he's in the higher level dungeon. But bearing that in mind, tell us who you think would come out ahead if these two bosses met -- and why.

US authentication system maintenance this Friday

This Friday, from 5:00 AM PDT to 6:00 AM PDT, Blizzard will be performing maintenance on their authentication system. While they predict that this won't affect access to the game, this does mean that the account management system won't be available. Hopefully the maintenance will be as brief and unnoticable as Blizzard plans, though even the best laid plans are sometimes flawed. So if you have any management to do, be sure to get it done before 5:00 AM.

For those of you needing a source for this information, I'm afraid I can't give you a link -- there's an announcement on the login screen, but no information on the forums or homepage.

Around Azeroth: What are the color options on that mount, again?

Wow -- I hadn't realized the Alliance's flying gryphon mounts came in such a brilliant shade of yellow. However, Zelphyne of Muradin was under the effect of the Lambent Blood debuff given by the Bogflare Needlers in Zangarmarsh. The color change isn't terribly obvious on a player character, but on Zelphyne's lovely Snowy Gryphon? Yikes!

Do you have a unique shot of Azeroth or Outland that you'd like to show off to the rest of the world? Tell us about it by e-mailing aroundazeroth@gmail.com! Or perhaps you'd just like to see more of your pics from Around Azeroth.

Forum post of the day: Phrases you will never see on the WoW forums

Okay, this is more like Ongoing Forum Post of the Last Month, but it's still funny. Sekkite starts out "Phrases you will never see on the WoW forums" with "PvE and PvP are perfectly balanced." The rest of the forumgoers chime in with phrases that people are too proud, too stupid, or too sane to ever post on the forums. Other far-too-true responses include:

*You are absolutely right, I DO need to learn to play!
*I am sorry if I took the raid's loot and transferred servers. It was my mistake and I was totally outraged at a recent event. If you want, I'll give you guys access to my username and password as consolation. After all, it is only a game.
*Nobody has screamed my location at me in quite some time. I am posting to as for confirmation that I am still within the Mediterannean nation of Sparta.
*I'm appalled by the lack of murlocs in Outland.
*That NE Hunter's opinion is completely valid and should be taken seriously.
*I looked at your armory, and even though you're wearing all AH greens and your Hydraxian, Argent Dawn and Brood rep are pretty much nonexistent, and have 300 lifetime HKs, your opinions are still completely valid and I will take them in to consideration, and help you with becoming better with your class.
*I realize that my arrogant, elitist, and immature forum posts are a desperate attempt to compensate for my disproportionately small genitals.
What will you never see on the forums?

What makes WoW succeed where others have failed?

WoW is one of those games that captures your imagination and draws you in again and again. Even many of the people who quit WoW don't stop reading or thinking about it. It lasts in the imagination long after you've let it go.

Gaston at Not Addicted has noticed this too. In order to find out why, he compares WoW with some of its predecessors in the MMO genre. Reading through his descriptions of these other games, I wondered what in the world were their designers thinking putting in features that just kept people out instead of drawing them in. Long waiting times between battles? Impossibly long leveling grinds? A mapless terrain with no means of quick travel? It shouldn't take a brilliant game designer to figure out that these would not be popular features.

Blizzard has certainly improved on things a bit. But what really makes for the difference? Gaston says that the reason we keep coming back to WoW is because of "instant gratification." "Most people," he says, "can get a WoW fix in just a couple of hours and usually have some small reward to show for their minimal efforts. Factor in an extremely lax death penalty and you have a slap-happy lollercoaster ride that dishes out free levels like bank lollipops."

Perhaps he's just saying this in comparison to the other games, but I think there's something more in WoW. There's a real sense of story and progress, with dynamic changes and climactic achievements that draw you in and never let you go. For me, WoW is something like a favorite story (like Lord of the Rings) a favorite challenge (like chess) and a favorite coffee house (a space to sit down and spend time with friends) all in one. I certainly don't think of it as a "fix" I can get in just a couple hours.

But who knows? Maybe WoW is just the first game of its sort to come along without glaring design flaws built right in from the beginning?

Quick guide to end-game hit rating

If you're not sure what hit rating is, I'll explain. When attacking a monster, with spells or physical weapons, you have a certain percent chance to miss them entirely. This chance is based on the type of weapons you're using and your level compared to the level of the monster you're trying to hit. So for max levels attempting to tackle boss content, there's a certain amount of +hit gear that will prevent you from missing -- but any +hit over that amount is wasted. (After you've negated any chance to miss, +hit gear does nothing for you.) For those of you interested in the elusive amount of +hit you need as a level 70 fighting boss-level monsters, Coriel over at Blessing of Kings has compiled all of the necessary data for you, taking possible talents and different weapons into consideration.

Upper Deck shows off the new loot cards

Upper Deck has confirmed those three loot items we mentioned the other day, coming in the Fires of Outland booster set. Goblin gumbo is a summonable pot that conjures a tradeable food (that makes you burp). There's a fishing chair as well (and Upper Deck has posted the first pictures of it-- looks like you're able to actually sit in the chair while you fish, which might make all that repetitive clicking a little more fun).

And of course there's the much awaited Spectral Tiger Mount, available in both regular and Epic flavors (strangely enough, they're making you pay the regular mount price for it, even after getting the special loot card code.

And if you're actually playing the game (not just using the codes for the cool in game stuff), Mike Hummel also reveals what each card does in game-- the Spectral Tiger card provides a buff to allies in your party with the Elusive and Ferocity qualities. Cool stuff. All of the cards will be foil cards, so if you're planning on grabbing some of the Fires of Outland packs (coming to stores in late August, we're told), keep an eye out.
